Trócaire works in partnership with local organizations to overcome poverty and promote justice in
developing countries. The Kenya country programme comprises four thematic areas: sustainable livelihoods and humanitarian response which has been modified to Arid and Semi Arid Lands Resilience Programme (ARP); governance and human rights; gender based violence and HIV and AIDs. This vacancy has arisen within the Arid and Semi – Semi Arid Lands Resilience Programme (ASALs).

The Role Purpose

This position is responsible for working with Partners to develop the policy component of the programme at both national and local (county and lower) levels; promote policy component of the programme at the both national and local (county and lower) levels; promote policy research and analysis and increase the profile of Trocaire and its partners in the policy arena in line with the planned programme results.

The Person Specification

Graduate level education in development studies or a relevant subject, Masters level or equivalent relevant professional qualifications within a development context.

Experience, knowledge and skills

At least three (3) years’ experience working in international development and at least 2 years experience of policy related work, Experience in Project Management, support of policy and context analyses, planning, strategy development, implementation, networking and relationship building either directly or through local partners.
