About the Organization:
The Kenya Financial Sector Deepening (FSD), FSD Kenya, was established in early 2005 to support the development of financial markets in Kenya as a means to stimulate wealth creation and reduce poverty. Working in partnership with the financial services industry the program'€™s goal is to significantly expand access to services among lower income households and smaller scale enterprises.
Background:
FSD Kenya is establishing a new Centre for insights into Financial inclusion (CiFi) to expand its support for the effective application of digital technology in financial markets. CiFi's ambition is to produce practical research which can be applied by financial institutions, regulators, and policymakers in creating sustainable market solutions.
About the Job:
FSD Kenya is seeking a Research Associate. S/he will support the CiFi's research activities working under the guidance of the project lead.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the analysis process to ensure that data is analyzed rigorously, and edit and co-write research papers;
- Keep abreast of global research relevant to FSD’s digital financial market development agenda.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Master's level qualification in Social Science;
- Relevant research experience in a developing country context (preferably Kenya);
- Strong analytical skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to work against tight deadlines to deliver expected outputs.
